-- The Kunkel Family

My husband, Greg and I just adopted Tica. She is a precious 10 month old white female boxer (with a brindle head). We couldn't be more in love!!! We lost our precious "Lucy" just 2 weeks ago on November 1 and couldn't stand not having a boxer in the house. We have changed her name (for the 4th time) to Laila (pronounced Lay-la) after Mohammed Allie's daughter who is a lady boxer!! Thanks for all you guys do to "connect" boxer lovers with precious boxers that need homes, it's been an absolute blessing in our home!

Hi - To Everyone With HoBo Care: Our family recently adopted a boxer named Keara who is 5 years old a couple of weeks ago. We are truly blessed to have her in our home, lives and our heart. We all love her so so much. She talks(grumbles) to us all the time as if she is saying how thankful and happy she is to come to live with us. She has such a big heart to be able to welcome us into her life. She sleeps with us in our king size bed and loves to lay with us on the couch snoring away. She is so loving and understanding with our son who is only 19 months old and follows Keara everywhere. We are so glad to have made a choice in rescuing & adopting an older dog vs buying a puppy. It was the best decision ever. I want to thank all of you for the care and time you spent in getting to know us and the animals you rescue in order to place the right boxer with the right family. Keara is truly our furry four legged daughter.

We have included some photos of her and will continue to let you know how she is doing. Please - pass on to everyone. We love you all!-- THE HOWELL FAMILY

I took this photo of my parents new addition to the family, Bodie (AKA Parker). He is settling in quite well with the exception of one escape when he went visiting. He hasn’t been visiting since. Bodie and my parents bulldog, Bizkit, have made quite an attachment. Not to mention Bodie just absolutely adores my boxer, Molly, whom I adopted about a year ago. They play and snuggle and have become very good friends(cousins we call them). Anyway I wanted to share this photo of Bodie with HOBO thought you might like an update. Thanks for everything, we love them both very much! -- Rhonda, Ron and Susie

Just wanted to update you on our Macy. I have sent photos of her. The (first) one is August 2004, when we first got her and she weighed 22 pounds, and (the next one) August 2005, now weighing 45 lbs. We have watched her grow and become healthy once again. She is so loving to Maverick and to all the members of the family, especially out grandchildren. She has learned to trust us that we will not hurt her, and she is always going to be safe and warm and hungry again. She has been such a good companion to Mav. We thought at first that a puppy would not be good for him, but she has proven to be his caretaker. They love each other and always need to be touching each other. Macy does all the running and checking in the yard, and only signals Mav if there is something really great to see or to smell. -- the Wilslev Family

We adopted Penelope in October of 2004 and would like to just give you an update. She has really adjusted well to her new home and family. She goes to work with us each day and really enjoys being official greeter at the office. She has gotten used to other dogs and likes to play with my daughters two Labs. We also have a new grand baby in the family and she loves him and has become very protective of him and his older brother and sisters. I am very grateful to her foster family and would like to thank boxer rescue for letting us adopt a very special new addition to our family. Please let her foster family know how she is and tell them thanks.

Just want to drop you a line on how Lady Belle, Formally known as Sarah is doing in her new home. I adopted Lady in October of 2003. She has been the most wonderful friend and companion. As you can she from the attached picture she has had another wonderful day of playing with her two best friends Taylor (4th grade) and Kaileigh (2nd grade), loading the dishwasher with Darlene, and in the back yard playing through the fence with her other dog friends, and it is now time for a rest. Thanks for bringing us together. ~ The Paul Family

My children and myself wanted to thank you, Bonnie and Holly for helping Sahara find her new home with us. It has only been about a day that she has been with us and we all feel that we could not have ended up with a better dog. She is a perfect fit! She is very loving, well behaved and has a great personality. In just this short time we already can't imagine not having her around. She came to a great home and will be very well taken care of. After you told me about how bad pet foods can be, I did a little research on the internet. When I told the kids of what you told me and what I read, they wanted to call all their friends and tell them to use Avo-Derm!! They wanted the web address so I made up some notes to cut out and give to their friends. Anyway, that you so much, we all couldn't be happier! -- John, Kaitlyn, Paige and Rebecca

Name: Merlin - ADOPTED

Name: Rambler AKA "Teddi" - ADOPTED

I just wanted to let you all know that my folks are adopting Teddi. The adoption paperwork will be sent to Marita this weekend. Teddi is doing better every week! Last weekend he came over to my house, jumped up on the couch next to me and gave me a big kiss on the cheek. Then he just sat there. I put my arm around him and looked up at my folks. We were all amazed and very proud of this big step Teddi took. Every week we see little changes in him, and they add up quickly. He is no longer terrified of my dad but he still won't go to him. My mom started having my dad feed him, and my dad also takes him for 2 walks a day. Teddi finally came to my dad this week! Yeah!!! My dad has been patiently waiting (6 weeks) for this to happen. That was a very proud moment for the both of them. My mom cuddles with Teddi on the bed every morning. She says it's their "bonding time". Teddi snuggles up against her, rolls on his back and starts flea biting her arm. She calls him her snuggle-bug. He also runs in the back yard and plays with his toys now. He loves his ball and his tug rope. He is the sweetest little boy and we are all so proud to have him be a permanent part of our family! Kisses from the Teddi-bear
