Hello.
We adopted Molly (aka April) last December. She was
one of Nana’s puppies (the lab/boxer mixes). She is such a fantastic
dog! She has been laid back and easy going since the day we got her.
She is so smart! Almost too smart sometimes! She did very well in
her obedience training courses last summer. Her favorite activities
include swimming, walking, playing fetch, and riding in the car. She
also acts as guardian to my cat. The cat often likes to “sneak”
out the doggie door since she is not allowed to go outside. Molly
always comes to me and alerts me when this has happened so that I
can get her back inside safe and sound where she belongs!
Yesterday we added
to our family by officially adopting Tonka. We had
been fostering him for the past few months as he was recovering from
a few things. He and Molly bonded immediately and she would be lost
without him. Tonka had been through a lot in his “previous”
life, so Molly has taken on the task of teaching him how to be a boxer
in a real home. She has taught him how to play boxer games and of
course, boxing! She has tried to show him her favorite game (retrieving,
what else?!) but he gets as far as getting the ball, but never quite
brings it back. We don’t thing Tonka had ever seen toys before
coming to our house. They seemed like a foreign object to him. He
is definitely coming into his own, and I am so thankful that Hobocare
brought him onto our lives. Tonka’s favorite activities include
cuddling, cuddling, and more cuddling! Thank
you Marita for all you do. We could not have asked for two better
dogs! I have a attached a couple of pictures for you (Molly is the
black dog).

I
just want to give you an update on Homer. First off, we changed his
name to Harley...he just didn't look like a "Homer"
to us. Secondly, he has been the best dog we could have hoped for.
He is so good natured and sweet. He and our other boxer Rocco get
along great!! They absolutely love each other. They will play play
play all day and then by the end of the day they just cuddle up together
like they've been together their whole lives. It's really very cute.
He is also very good with our two year old daughter. My husband and
I are always asking, "Why would someone not want this dog? He
is such a good boy." He has been a good influence on Rocco who
will be 1 next month. We have noticed him picking up on Harley's good
habits. We adopted Harley just before Thanksgiving and the past two
months have been great. Harley is such a great addition to our family
and we feel very lucky to have him with us.
I want to thank you and Karen Blazek (Harley's foster Mom) very much
for helping us to give Harley a new home. We really appreciate everything
that you and all the volunteer's do for these wonderful dogs who are
just looking for second chance. We hope you will include our story
and pictures in your success stories.
Here are some pictures of Harley and our other dog Rocco. (Harley
is the brindle boxer.)

We
wanted to send some pictures of Chelsea "Gracie"
and her big brother Cynder. We got Chelsea from hobo about this time
last year and she has been great. Even though Cynder out weighs her
by 50lbs, she has found a way to push him around. We would like to
thank you again for helping us bring her into our home and family.
If you could, please send our thanks and pictures on to Marita and
Chelsea's foster parents. Thanks once again and we hope all of you
had a wonderful holiday season....

We adopted Dore
from Ho-Bo Care on November 13, 2006. She is a four year old fawn
female who is the most lovable animal I have ever been around. She
is adored by my two girls ages 10 and 7 and of coarse my husband and
I. When we first brought her home the walking was little rough but
it didn’t take long for her to figure it out. What a smart girl
she is. I do not know how anyone could have given her up but we certainly
reaped the benefits. I do not allow Dore or my male Cocker Spaniel
to sleep on my bed, however, when the sun comes up she absolutely
knows to get up and snuggle with me face to face chest to chest. It
is the cutest thing ever. I really have a hard time getting out of
bed because we are so busy snuggling. She does like to sleep in my
10 year olds bed but still runs into me in the morning. I feel very
lucky; Ho-Bo care was able to place the perfect dog in our home.
Here
are a couple pictures of the lovely Bailey. She is
doing wonderful! We all love her so much especially our other doggy,
Suga Bear. He is so happy to have a girlfriend. Bailey is so sweet
and lovable and a very spoiled princess. We are so happy to have her
as part of our family. Thank you Jill, Marita and also Bailey's previous
owners. Hobo Care is wonderful!
Sincerely, The Gutierrez family
I
thought I would update everyone on Venus and send
some photos. She is doing so much better and she wants to run around
and play but we are making her take it easy until she has fully recovered.
I don’t know if you noticed since she wasn’t well when
she was there but when she wags her tail she actually shakes her whole
back end...we missed that! The first day she was home she wasn’t
feeling well but from Sunday on every morning when we get up she shakes
her but and gets excited...it’s so nice to have her home. Thanks
again for everything each of you did to save our little girl.
